About Me

Hey There! My name is Alexa, but I'm otherwise known as The Human Unicorn because of my pink hair and my peculiar obsession with rainbows and all things colorful!

Photography is my #1 favorite thing to do, but I have a few other interests too!

I love love love acting, specifically musical theatre and physical comedy!

I am a spoonie and I thoroughly enjoy practicing mindfulness and meditation so I can be a happy, sparkly little Unicorn on a consistent basis.

My favorite motivational speakers are Jay Shetty, Lewis Howes, and Gary V.

I'm also the proud owner of the Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit, which includes three cats by the names of Jebbie, Daisy, and Peeta, with a bonus lifetime supply of self adhesive white cat hair to match with all my black outfits!

I have a Chihuahua- Sheltie mix too! He's my role model- I like to mirror his excitement for meeting new humans. I love people so much although I'm an introvert and like to curl up alone with a good podcast sometimes too.

If you can relate to any of this, congratulations! You're my ideal client! If you can't..... you're probably still my ideal client because I already like you for taking the time to read this!

My Mission as Your Photographer

I view photography as an art. It's not just about learning the technicalities of the camera and editing software in order to preserve a memory, for me it's manipulating an image to match how I picture it in my imagination. I believe everyone has beautiful qualities, and I want my models to be able to see themselves in the way I see them when they look at a completed image. I've had several clients tell me that they like my photos because I "make them look pretty", but what they fail to realize is that that's literally how I see them in my mind all the time. That's why photography is so important. There's enough social pressure and insecurities in this world, if I can manage to take all of that away for a minute and show them a true reflection of themselves through an image, then I can say I've done my job.

How I Started

Several years ago, a friend of mine started up his own photography business and asked me to model for his shoot. After that moment, I was hooked! And not with the thrill of being in front of the camera, but with the process happening behind the lens. I treat each image I produce as a work of art. I love shooting basic scenes and diving into post-processing to blend reality and imagination into one final image.

Accomplishments

My work has been published in several magazines, placed well in competitions, and my photos have been displayed in several places around San Diego County. I've been featured on Bored Panda four times, and you might have seen my viral lens-child photoshoot circulating the interwebs!
